The construction of a new Goldcare Maintenance Hangar and associated workshops, stores and office accommodation for Boeing at the North West of Gatwick Airport off of existing Taxiway. This project was constructed land side so as to minimise the operational impact to Gatwick Airport.
This 14-month project utilised the combined strength from both the building and civils teams and seen the cut and fill of 20,000m³ of earth, 3,200 tonnes of steel lifted and over 10,000m³ of concrete cast, all only a short distance from the busy runway.
Standing at approximately 32 metres, the high bay hangar has been designed to allow flexibility of use, with the ability to house multiple aircrafts from the Boeing fleet, ranging from the 737Max jet, to its newest and largest edition, the 777X Dreamliner.
