Wednesday 2nd March 2022: daa has selected Sisk/Lagan Joint Venture (JV) to undertake its Dublin Airport Airside and Landside civil engineering framework worth over €325 million. This fully integrated JV between respective engineering firms, John Sisk & Son and Lagan Aviation & Infrastructure Ltd will utilise Sisk’s position as the leading building & civil engineering contractor in Ireland and Lagan’s position as a leader in worldwide aviation and airport infrastructure development.
The Airside and Landside Lot 1 framework is part of daa’s Capital Investment Programme 2020+ for Dublin Airport (CIP 2020+) which is designed to deliver continued growth over the medium term in line with Irish government policy.
This Framework consists of a number of civil engineering and infrastructure projects to upgrade the pavement, drainage and electrical systems at Dublin Airport’s boarding gate piers, aircraft stands, terminals, aprons, taxiways and the general airfield campus, in line with daa’s CIP 2020+.
Sisk has previously completed major Irish civil engineering projects including, Luas Cross City, Limerick Tunnel and is currently working on the Dunkettle Interchange Upgrade works in Cork. In 2019, Sisk completed the Boeing Gold Hangar at Gatwick Airport in London.
Lagan Aviation & Infrastructure Limited has completed several recent high-profile airport projects including projects at Ireland West Airport, London City Airport and London Southend Airport.

Essential projects, such as Dublin Airport’s new North Runway and the upgrade to the airport’s hold baggage screening systems have been progressing and there will also be a requirement for significant ongoing works across the airport campus.
In 2019, Dublin Airport welcomed a record 32.9 million passengers and had flights to more than 190 destinations in 42 countries operated by almost 50 airlines. Rebuilding Ireland’s connectivity will play a vital role in helping the Irish economy to recover from the economic shock of the pandemic.

This capital programme requires ongoing continued capital investment across Dublin Airport. Essential projects, such as Dublin Airport’s new North Runway and the upgrade to hold baggage screening systems are nearing completion and daa will also seek planning permission for future works presently.
Works may take place in critical areas across the airfield, boarding gate piers, terminals and the general airport campus. Working together with key stakeholders, the works will be delivered in a manner that causes minimal impact on the existing airport operation, airline customers and passengers.
