Thursday 6th May 2021: Congratulations to the Sisk team at Leeds Public Transport Investment Programme (LPTIP) scheme who achieved a fantastic result of 46/50 in their most recent Considerate Constructors Scheme audit.
Some of the standout sustainability features on Sisk’s LPTIP project includes:
· Early engagement with local access and usability groups
· Use of white noise generators to reduce the impact of construction works
· The Community Wood Scheme is used for timber recycling
Considerate Constructor’s Scheme said: “Early engagement with local access and usability groups is one of several standout examples, where mock-up sections were constructed, and feedback was incorporated into the final design and choice of materials. The provision of white noise machines to reduce background noise nuisance is a new initiative which has also been successfully trailed.
Major waste streams are segregated on site for recycling, targets are set for reduction and results are reported using the Smartwaste system. The Community Wood Scheme is used for timber recycling and noted also that domestic and office waste is segregated, and 100% recycled printing paper is used.”
