Sisk data centre capabilities
We have assembled a dedicated data centre/ICT division to focus on this critically important sector. This highly skilled team brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to every project and detailed expertise of how to maximise success for each and every client.
Over the course of several large-scale cloud infrastructure projects, a number of these centres have come about thanks to our long-standing working relationship with a large multinational client. Their latest project involved an ambitious 27-month construction programme culminating in a December 2017 handover date, and thanks to both our collaborative planning and expert use of our innovative 4D BIM technology, we were able to deliver on time.
Each new centre is the result of our world-class construction process
BIM Strategy
In order to get the client’s buy-in, we first developed our BIM strategy; this covered our proposed Hardware, Software and Accommodation requirements. Following a review of this along with a project team demonstration, the client agreed to run our BIM Innovation as a pilot project for all of their future centre construction processes globally.
Having agreed a construction budget and weekly financial progress reports, we then agreed a series of project milestones at both design and construction stages. These were recorded in our BIM Execution Plan to ensure soft landings throughout, and we delivered on each milestone (including the agreed handover date) with zero snags.
"John Sisk & Son won the BIM Excellence Award for the Multinational Data Centre Campus project. This multinational data centre project has been designated as the pilot scheme project of BIM best practice for any future data centre projects for this client."
Sisk mobile BIM station
This provided a central location for the latest project information, meaning easy access to project information; more time spent on site; and better communication to site teams and trades.
Key to the BIM hub’s success was the BIM lead from each discipline being based on-site, with the production of information being sourced from each individual discipline’s BIM team off-site.
